Dylan Baron
EPK
Artist Bio:
Dylan Baron is a genre-fluid hip-hop artist and producer whose work blurs the lines between alternative rap, R&B, and house. Born in New Zealand, raised in Australia, and now based in Los Angeles, Dylan merges introspective storytelling with danceable, left-field production—offering a fresh, culturally-aware voice in modern music. With a background in media creation and a scholarship-awarded education at Musicians Institute, he’s part of a new wave of self-made artists who are as visually driven as they are sonically bold.

In his earlier years, Dylan grew up in South Auckland, where he lived in a middle-class family home. As a child, he would often stare out the car window while his family drove through the less desirable suburbs surrounding his own. The loud rap music people would play in the streets around Manurewa town centre stuck with him from a young age. His fascination with understanding perspectives outside of his own would end up playing a big part in influencing who he is today. At a time when audiences crave authenticity, Dylan’s sound offers a refreshing blend of global perspective and genre-bending production. He represents the type of modern artist who isn’t just following trends—but creating culture from the inside.
Through his work, Dylan Baron offers a window into his personal experiences and reflections, drawing from his diverse background to create music that is both meaningful and relatable. His evolution as an artist reflects his journey from South Auckland to Los Angeles, with each stage of his life contributing to the depth and authenticity of his sound. In the years ahead, Dylan looks to expand on his storytelling to create social commentaries on the world around him through his music while continuing to explore different sounds and genres. A self-sufficient creative, Dylan produces not only his own music, but also the visuals that accompany it—from press photography to video content. His aesthetic references range from early-2000s street culture to Picasso-esque surrealism, matching the emotional layers in his music.
